What is Engineering Talent Search (ETS)?

ETS is an annual competition organized by Laghu Udyog Bharati to promote innovation, problem-solving, and industry-academia collaboration among technical students and industrial professionals.

Who can participate in ETS?

ETS is open to:

  • Engineering, Polytechnic, and ITI students
  • Small, medium, and large-scale industries
  • What is the main objective of ETS?

    To foster a culture of innovation, process improvement, and quality consciousness in line with the Government of India’s “Zero Defect, Zero Effect” initiative.

    ETS comprises four stages:
    1. Project Registration
    2. Online Project Assessment

    How do I register for ETS?

    Visit the official LUB website and complete the registration form. Pay the applicable fee and submit your project details before the deadline

    What is the registration fee?

  • ₹1000 for student project teams
  • ₹2000 for industry entries
  • What is the last date for registration?

    The deadline for project registration is 31st August 2025.

    Can a team have members from different colleges or locations?

    Yes. Teams can be cross-institutional or remote. Online rounds allow flexible participation from different locations.

    How are projects evaluated in the online round?

    Projects are categorized domain-wise and evaluated by independent judges based on:

  • Innovation
  • Relevance
  • Presentation quality
  • Problem-solving approach
  • Practical applicability
  • How long is the online presentation slot?

    Each team gets 10 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for Q&A, totaling 12 minutes.

    Do participants need to travel for the online round?

    No. The online round is fully remote. Teams can present from any location with internet access.

    . How are judges selected?

    Judges are experienced professionals from academia and industry, selected for their domain expertise and impartiality.

    What happens after the online round?

    Top 20–25 projects are shortlisted for the physical presentation round, where teams present in person to a panel of judges and a live audience.

    What is the format of the physical round?

    Shortlisted teams present their projects in a seminar hall. Presentations alternate between student and industry teams to foster mutual learning

    How many people attend the physical round?

    Over 700+ participants and viewers from colleges and industries attend the two-day physical presentation event.

    What is the Grand Finale?

    The Grand Finale is a high-profile award ceremony where top 5 projects from each category (students and industry) are honored. Eminent guests from government, industry, and academia attend.
